The Gift

Everyone starred, watching with anticipation as, Sara opened the gift. It was wrapped beautifully. The Purple Paper’s Satin finish reflected in the light.

Satin Purple

A sweet aroma began to hit her nose, tantalizing her senses, as she strapped the paper away, lifting the lid.

Sara smiled through the confusion going through her mind, as she pulled out the empty bottle of perfume. Was this a joke?

The room grew silent, eyes glaring. Stares of disappointment filled the room. Tears fell, as she held the bottle against her heart.

Everyone felt bad, speculating Sara was upset. They began offering to exchange her gift and purchase a better gift. Smiling brightly, clinging to the odd shaped empty bottle, she stood to her feet.

Sara began uttering words of thanksgiving under her breath which began to explode from her lips, holding the gift tightly.

It turned out that although the bottle appeared empty, it was actually full. Spilling, overflowing with memories of love.
